TeleCycle Our Certifications
TeleCycle, an Environmental Steward
TeleCycle is a leading and proactive Environmental Steward for our community. We distinguish ourselves from other electronic recyclers by using the best management systems and practices available in the recycling industry – systems that are expected by our clients and applauded by our peers. This is the reason that TeleCycle devoted a great deal of resources in achieving what we have labeled as "Ultimate Environmental Certification".
Ultimate Environmental Certification
TeleCycle is ISO14001:2004, ISO9001:2008, OHSA18001:2007, RIOS and R2 Certified in addition to being registered with state environmental protection agencies. TeleCycle supports a no landfill policy.

ISO14001:2004 – Environmental Management System View | Download
TeleCycle developed and implemented our Environmental Management System (EMS) for our recycling processes and achieved ISO14001:2004 certification in 2008. Certification was achieved through BSi Group, one of the world’s leading ISO auditors which evaluated our company’s EMS by a comprehensive on-site audit. Becoming ISO14001:2004 certified validates TeleCycle’s EMS for its effectiveness at reducing environmental impact. It also validates our understanding and conformance with all legislative and regulatory requirements related to the recycling process.

TeleCycle has also achieved ISO9001:2008 certification (after originally being ISO9001:2000 certified). ISO9001:2008 is the most current QMS (Quality Management System) which includes an environmental overlay thereby improving our compatibility with ISO14001:2004. Again, the auditor is BSi Group. Our achievement of the ISO9001 certification validates our operational efficiency. This QMS provides the framework for monitoring and improving our performance as well as serving as a guideline for improving client satisfaction and staff motivation.

R2 Certification – Responsible Recycling Practices View | Download
In 2010, TeleCycle achieved R2 (Responsible Recycling) certification, the Responsible Recycling Practices for Use in Accredited Certification Programs for Electronics Recyclers. These practices are endorsed by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency. Some examples of the environmental protection standards that R2 Responsible Recyclers are required to fulfill include using environmental, health, and safety management systems, minimizing exposure and emission during recycling operations and promoting material reuse and recovery. Additionally, R2 Responsible Recyclers must first obtain permission and documentation from the governing authorities in foreign countries prior to exporting recycled commodities abroad.

RIOS certification provides a comprehensive, integrated recycling management system for your operation. The Recycling Industry Operating Standard (RIOS) was developed by the scrap recycling industry to help companies manage and improve their quality of work and environment, health and safety (QEHS) management systems.

OHSAS 18001:2007 is an internationally recognized standard used to assess the status of an organization's occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system against accepted criteria.

EPA Registered and Adherence to a Zero-Landfill Policy
TeleCycle is registered with the environmental protection agencies in the state of Georgia and Florida. Our respective EPA registration numbers are GAR000057299 and FLR000168039.
TeleCycle imposes upon itself and strictly adheres to a Zero-Landfill policy. The implications of this policy is that all end products from our processes will be either recycled, remarketed for reuse, or properly treated at specialized off-site processing plants for hazardous materials. This means that absolutely nothing is irresponsibly sent to landfill. With the continuous support from our clients TeleCycle is committed to being an effective and proactive environmental steward for our community for the appropriate and responsible recycling of retired electronic assets.
