TeleCycle Our Commitment

TeleCycle is committed to providing the best IT Asset Management and Recycling Services possible. Our dedication at every step of the process is what sets us apart from our competitors. We are passionately committed to our clients and to the environment in providing quality and secure asset management, disposition and recycling services.

Commitment to Our Client's

Protection of our clients’ interests, be it economic or reputation related, is of utmost importance at TeleCycle. We deliver a fully integrated suite of services that aims at providing the maximum return on investment for our clients. From on-site decommissioning and de-installation to recycling and remarketing, TeleCycle offers services at each and every step of the asset management and disposition process. With our extensive global remarketing channels and our technical expertise we devise innovative services to help our clients maximize the value recovered from their assets for an optimal financial return.

Not with standing the objective-driven nature of our business, we do not overlook the importance of security as a protection of our clients’ name, brand, and reputation. Our facilities include a 24-hour remote monitored alarm system, 24-hour camera surveillance, motion detectors, door sensors, and a high security zone separately fenced and screened with keypad access as security measures to protect our clients’ confidential information and proprietary assets.

Commitment to the Environment

TeleCycle makes no compromise to the environment while providing quality service to our clients. We adopt a Zero Landfill Policy and adhere to it stringently. All electronic waste received at our facilities are screened for a possibility of three destinations – (1) parts harvesting, asset refurbishment and remarketing, (2) destruction and de-manufacturing for recycling, or (3) specialized off-site processing for hazardous materials. Absolutely none of these materials are sent to landfill. Given that around 70% of toxic heavy metals found in landfills come from electronic waste, TeleCycle serves not only our clients, but the environment as well. As a demonstration of our commitment to environmental responsibility we have devoted resources and achieved what we call the “Ultimate Environmental Certification”. These 5 certifications are ISO14001:2004 (Environmental Management System), ISO9001:2008 (Quality Management System with Environmental Overlay), OSHA18001:2007, RIOS and R2 (Responsible Recycling), in addition to being registered with state environmental protection agencies and supporting a zero landfill policy. TeleCycle is committed to helping the environment.

Our commitment to the environment is not only restricted to our company but is extended to incorporate our clients as well. By using the services provided by TeleCycle, our clients can reduce their Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from electronic wastes and consequently minimize their carbon footprint.

We can help our clients reduce their GHG emissions through two major avenues – remarketing reusable electronic assets and recycling parts and materials. It is estimated that 55.78 Metric Tons of Carbon Dioxide (MTCO2) is generated per short ton of personal computers (PCs) through the process of manufacturing (sourced from the United States Environmental Protection Agency, EPA). This means that each PC that is remarketed saves over 50 times its own weight in CO2 emissions simply due to the fact that it eliminates the need for manufacturing a new PC. This is referred to as source reduction. Likewise, GHG emission reduction can be seen in the remarketing of other electronic assets in addition to PCs due to source reduction.

It is estimated by the EPA that in general, circuit boards contain somewhere in the order of 40 to 800 times the concentration of gold as that contained in ore mined from the earth, and 30 to 40 times the concentration of copper. These numbers become exponentially more significant considering that over 372 million electronic units weighing 3.6 million tons entered the waste stream in 2007 and 2008. Less than 14% of that was recycled; the rest went into landfills and incinerators. It is estimated that 2.26 MTCO2 can be reduced by the recycling of one short ton of PCs. Recycling 1 million laptops saves energy equivalent to taking 3657 homes off the grid for one full year (sourced from EPA). All of these figures demonstrate the vast potential for GHG reduction inherent in recycling. Therefore, TeleCycle’s recycling services can indubitably help our clients reduce their carbon footprint.

Depending on the type of electronic equipment that our clients have, it is possible to calculate the amount of GHG emissions saved by using the recycling or remarketing services that TeleCycle offers simply by summing up the type and amount of each raw material contained in the electronic equipment. At TeleCycle, our goal is to not only be a carbon-neutral company, but be carbon-negative by helping our clients minimize their carbon footprint.
